The Subscription Trap
$15–$30 / month
Traditional AI dictation apps bill you on a flat monthly rate, regardless of how much you actually use them.
You pay the full price even if you only dictate for 5 minutes this month.
Unused minutes vanish at the end of the month with billing reset.
Adds another recurring subscription that silently hits your card.

Questions
Frequently asked
No. Minutes you purchase never expire. Use them this week or six months from now — the balance is yours.
Voxa will show a low-balance warning when you're under 10 minutes. When you run out entirely, dictation pauses until you top up — it won't surprise you with charges.
If you've spent $10 or more in the current calendar month, Standard dictation runs without deducting further minutes for the rest of that month. The cap resets at the start of every month. Minutes you've purchased are not consumed during the unlimited period.
Your audio is sent to a third-party transcription API, processed, and immediately discarded — we don't store recordings. The resulting text is cleaned up and returned to your Mac. We never read, log, or train on your dictations.
Apple Dictation only works inside apps that support it and stops after a short timeout. Voxa works everywhere on your Mac, has no timeout, and uses a more accurate AI model that removes filler words and fixes punctuation automatically.
If you dictate every day for hours, a flat subscription might make sense. But most people dictate occasionally — and paying $15–$20/month for something you use 20 minutes a week is wasteful. Voxa charges only for what you actually say. Heavy users hit a $10/month cap anyway.
Not yet. Voxa is macOS-only for now. Windows support is on the roadmap.
Yes — the transcription engine handles technical vocabulary well. If you regularly dictate specialized terminology, it will usually transcribe it correctly.
